Right now we have no imagery to share from our currently selected project theme, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Our members are taking their time to think out just what they would photograph to accurately portray their lives. More than likely, imagery will start popping up in the next two weeks, and little sneak peeks will be shared as available.

As it was mentioned before, we have a diverse culture on our forums, and certain things are not easy to depict. That is why members are using their collective brainstorming powers together, so that everyone might be able to come up with something for this project. I hope you're as excited to see what creative things we come up with as we are to create them!

Currently though, we have some people who live in the United Kingdom, a couple in Canada, and even someone across the seas in Singapore! The rest of us are spread out across the United States, which in and of itself causes great diversity because it is such a large nation. Due to all these cultural diversities, we're sure to have vast differences in our daily lives. You must then include into this the fact that our age group is spread between thirteen (13) years old and sixty (60) years old! WOW! So we're looking forward to this project having a lot to offer the viewer, visually!

Each member will be allowed to submit three photos sharing a day in their life. For some, this will mean a three-image photo story, and for others it will be more disjointed and just share habits. Each has their own idea of how they want to meet the challenge of this project though, and are working hard.

The beauty of the entire thing though, is that the members suggested this project idea (along with others), voted on the ideas, and ultimately chose this idea as the one they wanted to do the most. Because of this, it's a project that the forum community is intersted in, and more excited about.

Does something like this sound like something you'd enjoy? Well then stop on over at our forums and join us! You can still be a part of the current project, and come the end of March we'll be deciding on what to start on in April! So come be a part of something wonderful with people who share the same passion as you!

These projects are open to any forum member--not just those who we think have professional enough quality of photos. So long as the camera you're using can create images that meet the size requirements, you're welcome to join in the projects!

Enjoy, and happy shooting everyone! Please look forward to what we will be sharing!

The theme has been selected! For our very first project, we are going to be creating a Day in our Life. Basically, in three photographs or less, we're going to show you things that occur in our lives.

While we are all photographers at heart, we are also diverse people from diverse lifestyles. As human beings we have created our own routines and habits that we do daily, and would struggle to break--even if our lives depended on it.

There are so many lifestyles out there, too. Some people live on a farm, and are up at dawn to feed the animals. Others perhaps raise and show horses, or another animal. Some of our photographers are still in school (either Grade School or College), and others hold steady jobs. We all have different kinds of families, and lifestyles.

Religion may play a big factor in someone's life, or perhaps the lack there of. Illness and traditions are other big things. No matter what, we're all different.

So, through the power of photography and the creativity that lives within each of us, we are going to share these differences proudly. Hopefully, you enjoy our imagery.

If you'd like to participate, feel free to join us on the forum! It doesn't matter what your skill level is, nor what kind of camera you own! Any member of the forum can participate in any project, and the more participants the better!

Otherwise, please check back here for periodic updates on our project status, and perhaps some sneak peaks at what's going on!

So far, our selection process for the next project is going pretty well! Something very unexpected did happen though--we had a three-way tie! For the first project I figured we would simply get so many votes that at least one of the theme ideas would be in the lead, but such was not the case!

In the beginning, we started with the following suggestions from our members:
  • Roads
  • Day in your Life
  • Plants
  • Coffee
  • Music
  • Your Hobby (other than photography)
  • Landscapes
  • Colour
It has now been narrowed down to an all-out duel between:
  • Day in your Life
  • Coffee
  • Colour
At the end of this week, we will (hopefully) have decided on an absolute theme to use for our very first project!

The project will be lasting a total of two months, in which time our members will be busy creating the best photographs they possibly can to be showcased here! Once that is done, we'll have some excellent stuff up in the gallery for you.

As things go on, I'll be sure to post little teasers of what we're cooking up over on the forums. If you'd like to join us, it's never too late to get in on a project that's incomplete! And we'd love to have you!

Right now, this site is in the process of getting its feet wet while it picks itself up off the ground to get running. The forum has been in place for about six months now, and is going strong. As such, it was decided to create a website as a part of the newest addition to the forums: Community Projects.

These projects are based around themes that are suggested by the forum community, chosen by the forum communtiy, and all the photographs that are a part of them are created by the forum community. Together we are creating something beautiful that we can be proud of, and show off. Hopefully, you agree as well.

Since this is a new thing, however, there isn't too much to report. Updates will be posted as necessary, and all past updates will be found in this section as well.

Please enjoy the site, the photography, and be sure to check out our forums! We're always glad to welcome new members!
